Sonata Breast Pump by Medela

Baby TALK On Baby TECH:

In Spring of 2012, I (and a very talented team) had the exciting honor of winning an Edison Award (www.edisonawards.com) in the category of Industrial Design Tools. At this point in my product development career, I was a fledgling in both business and innovation.  This experience skyrocketed my venture to wonderful new heights.  All I had to do was manage the trajectory. Easy, right?!

 Edison Awards

The Edison Awards is an annual competition honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human-centered design, and innovation. The Edison Awards symbolize the persistence and excellence personified by Thomas Edison, while strengthening the human drive for innovation, creativity, and ingenuity.  After winning this award, I have been asked to participate in the judging process for the past 5 years.  Even more satisfying than winning, is the privilege to peek into an awe-inspiring new crop of nominees.

One such nominee is a product and company after my own heart; Sonata Breast Pump by Medela (http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com). Check it out:

They said it, and I wholeheartedly agree; this is amazing! Sonata has vastly improved the breast pumping experience.  To achieve simplicity in product design is no easy feat, however, Sonata Breast Pump has done exactly that by creating a critically important product that is smart, highly adaptive to moms, with comforting performance.  I can only imagine this renders the ultimate goal of happy moms/happy babies.

The 2017 Edison Award winners will be decided April 20 in New York, NY.  Sonata Breast Pump fits the bill indeed to be among an admirable group of innovations.  Best of luck to you! We will keep our on eye you.  Regardless of the outcome, you have a winning product, especially considering the benefactors - the most precious of all of us - BABIES!

Check back again for yet another baby innovation.

Aaron  - "mom" in residence.
